1st and 2nd Quarter Grade Comparisons

Here is new data collected comparing our first quarter grades to second quarter grades.  The second quarter grades tell us we are having less students fail classes but we are five percent lower in students getting A's. The data is taken by grades not by students, so the percentages may be higher in each category because one student could get multiple grades in one category.  The following is the breakdown by class:

College Dual Enrollment Coming To BHS

Bucksport High School has solidified an agreement with Eastern Maine Community College to receive college credit while taking math classes at BHS.  Students who take and pass Honors Algebra II, AP Statistics and AP Calculus will receive credits from Eastern Maine Community College and Bucksport High School.  Math teacher Mike Cowing is teaching all three courses.  The agreement will start the 2012-2013 school year and will be open to any students that want to take these classes.  We are very excited to have this agreement in place and know students will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.  Students will be able to graduate from BHS with ten credits towards EMCC if they take all three math classes.
